A day in the life of Newfoundland and Labrador's Natural Resources Minister, Siobhan Coady.
The Land Destroyers
This video was released the day after the flooding of the reservoir at Muskrat Falls, Labrador. In contravention of all agreements and promises, and claiming to have "forgotten" documented commitments, the government of Newfoundland and Labrador flooded the reservoir at Muskrat Falls, guaranteeing the poisoning of water, food and habitat and risking the lives of the people and animals who live downstream from this ill-conceived Mega Project.
Siobhan Coady is one of the faces complicit in orchestrating and promoting this and many other environmental and humanitarian crimes.
lyrics
Siobhan Coady
gets up in the morning
right before the crack of dawn
she puts the coffee on
Siobhan Coady
She's got to get ready
pantyhose and pant suit on
now to put the makeup on
Oh but the face in the mirror is a face
Siobhan Coady doesn't recognize
The lines, they're all shifted, everything's distorted
the reflection lies
Siobhan Coady
drives to work down the parkway
all over the radio everyone
is saying everything about Siobhan Coady
She got everything all turned out
sucking the food right from our mouths
another one bottom feeding
repeating, repeating, repeating
Oh but the voices on the radio, they're talking about a person
Siobhan Coady doesn't recognize
The lines, they're all shifted, everything's distorted
the reflection lies
Siobhan Coady
she can't hear the phone ringing
she's thinking about that thing
they said on the television
Siobhan Coady
she's staying late after work
she says goodnight to the clerk
and then she stares out the window
All those faces on the television, Siobhan Coady, no,
she can't get it out of her head
the water's rising, all the people sleeping
afraid of drowning in their beds
Siobhan Coady
